Tap ‘n Tabla is a spectacular combination of the swift fingers of Sandip Bhattacharya on tabla and the speedy feet of tap dancer Peter Kuit, accompanied by a swinging jazz ensemble. It is a performance of interweaving rhythms, combining diverse musical and performance genres with humour and energy. The light design worked with complementary colours lighting opposite sides of the translucent décor, creating a visual image of the musical interplay. It also incorporated a spray of hanging light bulbs, whose shadows were made to swing in time to the music. The light bulbs were also integrated into the composition, flashing in sequence to make the complex Indian rhythms visible to the public.
